Building up business trust in my small business is something I have never thought

about in any depth. Building a relationship with my customers has been a priority, but I have never narrowed the focus down to building business trust. That is until now. In a press release ( yes there is valuable content in some PR) for Valens Point LLC Debra Mendes has this to say:

Small Business trust gives a competitive advantage

“Business owners are better equipped to build trust once they see tangible steps that can be taken to do so” says David C. Smith, Managing Partner at Valens Point. “Establishing trust objectives as part of your business strategy can have a profound affect on all aspects of your business and accelerate growth. Trust is paramount in getting and keeping customers, and recruiting and retaining staff, for example. Developing trust impacts the growth, sustainability and profitability of your business – all important factors in creating a sellable business.”Debra Mendes, also a Managing Partner at Valens Point, views trust as an important factor in the development of content used to educate prospects and customer for a business. “One of the most important elements within our marketing strategy focus is to gain trust. A business that can create stories around the trust building actions they implement for their staff, customers, and culture will have a competitive advantage.” Valens Point uses the Duct Tape Marketing™ system to help customers build marketing strategies because it emphasizes a straight forward approach for small businesses to marketing focused on getting prospects to ‘Know, Like and Trust’ you and your business.Click here to visit the original source of this post

I accept that in building up a relationship with my customers, trust has been De facto generated. Now that I can see the importance of business trust as an important part of the process. It’s something that I can focus on while I’m helping my customers with their requirements by offering unbiased advice (don’t laugh, I can… ok … balanced advice, better?) on the products I stock. After all that is how I have built up a clientele that comes back season after season, and are happy to tell their friends, by building a relationship by knowledge and trust. It’s one more tool that small businesses can use to take on the big boys.

I think this is a lost art in American businesses. Though it takes longer to build a customer through trust, once developed it’s a strong bond. Thanks for reminding us!

I believe everything in business and outside business revolves around relationships. And relationships are built on trust. Business trust is the logical ‘next step’ to growing and sustaining our business.
Thanks for good content. I’ll have to follow that article. I’m intrigued by what Debra Mendes means by the Duct Tape Marketing™ system.

Great article. So much in business (online and offline) is based on relationships and I believe trust is earned through those relationships. I personally want to be able to sleep at night . . . just saying!
